v0 alternative for copying a website design
v0 is Vercel's chat-based builder. You prompt it, it writes code, and you pay in credits. CopyDesign.ai does one narrower job: paste the URL of a site you like and get a written build spec covering its layout, type, colors and sections. You can use it in v0, Claude Code, Cursor or Codex.

| CopyDesign.ai | v0 | |
|---|---|---|
| Starts from | A URL, screenshot, screen recording or app screen | A chat prompt |

| Free | 1 clone, no card | A free plan capped at 7 messages a day |
| Paid | $1.99 for one spec, or $9.99 a month for 12 | Plus costs $30 a seat each month; Business costs $100 a seat |
| Unused credits | Roll over | Roll over and expire after 65 days |
When v0 is the better pick
You're starting from an idea rather than a site you want to match, and you want to keep prompting until it looks right.
When CopyDesign.ai is the better pick
You have a reference site and want the build to match it closely. The spec carries the measurements, so the builder doesn't have to read them off a picture.
Using both
Paste the spec into v0 as your first message, then keep prompting. v0's docs say longer prompts use more tokens, so a 4,000-word spec costs more input than a one-line request. You pay that once instead of correcting spacing over ten follow-ups.
How CopyDesign.ai gets its numbers
For a URL, CopyDesign.ai loads the page in a headless browser, takes eight screenshots from top to bottom and reads the HTML plus up to three stylesheets. Gemini writes the spec in two passes: measurements and sections first, then starter code. A URL run usually takes two to three minutes.
